Based on ridership and rider suggestions, the Coal Creek Express is proposing a schedule modification which would take effect April 1, 2010. Currently, in the peak direction, there are two runs down the canyon in the morning (at 6:07 and 7:09) as well as one mid-afternoon at 2:20 p.m. Returning from Highway 93 traveling up the canyon, afternoon peak direction, there are runs at 2:43 p.m, 5:05 p.m., and 5:51 p.m. – with an added run up at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only.
Few folks have needed the 6:33 run, with only 49 boardings since the service started in May – and the rate has tapered off in the past few months.
Meanwhile, we’ve had requests for a later run down in the morning, allowing workers in Boulder and Golden to catch the GS northbound at 8:36 a.m. and the GS southbound at 8:46.
To accommodate the demand, Ride Provide (operator of the Coal Creek Express) is proposing to eliminate the 6:33 p.m. run, and add an 8:11 a.m. run. The change only affects the schedule on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Comments or concerns about the change? Please let the folks at Ride Provide know. Tell the drivers, call 303/420-2589, or email Shelley at
